Information about Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is a Nintendo video game. It was the first Game from the Legend of Zelda series to be released on the Nintendo Gamecube. Nintendo's decision to render the game's graphics using a technique called cel-shading, an advance computer graphics technique applied to 3D objects to make them appear flattened, was controversial among zealous Zelda fans prior to its release. It gave the game a look similar to Japanese Anime, while fans was expecting a more "grown-up" Zelda game featuring realistic graphics. The gaming public and even Nintendo-faithfuls was divided to whether or not the graphics would turn out well or not. However, on its release the game received critical acclaim, rating scores above 90% from most game reviewers. Therefore, the controversy is unwarranted. A special bonus disc was given out to people who pre-ordered the game. It contained a direct port of the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as well as Ura Zelda otherwise known as Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest (which was planned to be released for the 64DD). Like the original Legend of Zelda, "Wind Waker" has a second quest. Like Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, it has a day-and-night feature. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is chronologically set 500 years after Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Hyrule castle town has been submerged. It began on Link's birthday, when Link was awarded the Hero's Clothes (a green suit). His sister Aryll loan her prized possession, a telescope, to him. After Link received the Hero's Clothes, the Helmarock King captured Aryll and threw her into the cursed dungeon called the Forsaken Fortress. Link left Outset Island with Tetra and sailed to the Forsaken Fortress, but he was tossed away by the Helmarock King. He was rescued by the King of the Lions boat. He ended up on Windfall Island. At Windfall Island, he talked to two men whose daughters were also captured by the Helarock King and taken to Forsaken Fortress. Link does not get to rescue them until later in the game.
